Start by Updating the Module
Make sure you are running the latest version of the module before going through the checks below. Settings have moved out of the module and into the Doofinder Admin Panel, so an outdated module does not behave as this article describes.

If you come across issues such as errors, closures, or improper functioning of the layer while navigating through your category pages, it could be related to the "serialize state to browser's URL" option. This feature generates a dynamic URL shareable with other users. Usually, third-party modules may be listening for events that interfere with the layer when the serialize URL is active, leading to errors.
To fix this, go to Search > Layer Settings, go to the layer you are using, scroll down to Configuration, and disable the "serialize state to browser's URL", hit the "Save" button.
