Products with Variants in Shopware 5: Parent Product Field Sources
Products with variants are items that share the same core attributes (such as name or description) but differ by at least one attribute, commonly size or color. For example, a t-shirt available in multiple colors is considered a product with variants.
Grouping products with variants as a single item keeps search results clean and easy to browse. Shoppers see one product with all its options, making it faster to find and choose the right variant.
When you group products by variants, Doofinder can display the selected variant, the default variant, or the main (parent) product depending on the attribute. The table below shows how products with variants appear in Doofinder when using Shopware 5:
Platform | Plugin Price | Sale Price | Link | Image | Availability | Default Variant? |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Shopware 5 | Cheapest variant | Cheapest variant | Default variant | Default variant | Default variant | Yes (There is a main variant used as the parent, and then one variant is missing — that's how Shopware 5 manages it) |
